8/29/11

What a boring week :) Volleyball away at Crenshaw today , away tomorrow at Lee-Scott , away Thursday at Evangel , and football away at Macon-East. Enough to qualify for frequent flyer miles . . .

Academically speaking progress reports went out Friday. Tests this week in Algebra II , Geometry and Precalculus. Almost halfway through the grading period by Friday. Make up work is already at a premium - please complete in a timely fashion. Unreasonable delays will result in unreasonable penalties.

Psalm 109:8 " Let his days be few , ( and ) let another take his office. " (KJV) Thought for today . . .

8/9/11

Sorry I missed yesterday. First day was extremely hectic but still fun :)

Homework lists have gone out and homework checks begin with tomorrow's quiz. Remember quizzes are open note but not open book. Tests have been scheduled and will fall on the day listed unless you hear otherwise in this location.

Most everyone has had a chance to look for calculators. I understand Wal-Mart still has a reasonably good supply left in the $8.44 - $13 range.

Feel free to e-mail with comments , questions or concerns. jreynolds@pikelib.com is the address.

8/1/11

School starts a week from today. Excited yet ? NOT :)

Supplies for my classes will include ( but are not limited to ) the following:

Two pencils with an ample supply of lead as needed
( The old fashioned type are $0.97 per 24 pencils - my preference ).

One blue/black/red ink pen to correct quizzes and homework.

A folder/binder with an ample supply of paper
( Spiral notebooks are STRONGLY STRONGLY discouraged).

A calculator  with scientific functions such as sine , cosine ,etc.
( Wal- Mart has an entire display of some that run from $ 8.44  to about  $ 13 in price. I would NOT recommend spending more without being sure that it can be used on the ACT or other standardized tests ).

You will receive a syllabus as well as an assignment list on the first day. They will give you a good idea of what to expect. I look forward to seeing you all next week.
