There appears to be confusion on grading. Allow me to clarify.

PLAS employs a 40-40-20 system on grades. First nine weeks = 40 % , Second nine weeks = 40 % and semester final exams = 20 %. The only grade that appears on the college transcript is the average of these three grades.

We will walk through an example. Student X makes an 80 on the first nine weeks grade , an 83 on the second nine weeks grade and a 73 on the final exam. The overall average would be 79.8 rounded up to 80. The only grade showing on the college transcript would be the 80 average.

We will be back January 3 to answer any further questions that need clarifying. Teacher e mail accounts are only accessible through the school mainframe so any individual replies may not occur until 1/3/12.

So it begins. Precalculus Final today. Algebra II and Geometry tomorrow and Thursday, Calculus on Friday.

Monday. Finals Week. Ought to be interesting.

Make up work is at a premium as usual. I have cleared as much of my schedule as possible to accomodate. Let me know what I can do to help.

Day 2 of Finals Review. I think we are all about ready for a break for a little while :)

Fall Sports Banquet is Monday night. Football , cheerleading and volleyball will have their night. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Day One of Final Exams Review. Still a considerable amount of make up work to be done. No time like the present to do so, and with no new material being covered it is a good opportunity.

Exam review week. Geometry has their final test Tuesday and Algebra II on Wednesday. Everyone will be in full Final Exam mode no later than Thursday.

Friday at last ! Hooray !

Algebra II students might get accused of government overthrow today. They take a test on RADICALS ( square roots , cube roots , etc. ) ! Geometry and Calculus finish up next week as we repare for Final Exams.

PLAS Christmas is here ! Today and tomorrow in the cafetorium.

Precalculus - your day is today. Algebra II - tomorrow and Wednesday. Geometry - Tuesday. Caculus - yesterday. That is the test synopsis of the week.

Careful outside. Plenty of frost to go around for everyone.
