11/28/11

Three weeks left to Christmas Break. The only thing that gets crazier than the malls at this time of year are the students/teachers/administration . Always a sprint to the finish.

Algebra II - Test this week - probably moved up a day to Thursday - maybe Friday at the very latest. Imaginary number test next week preceeding Finals Review.

Geometry - Test next Tuesday on chapter 6 - Finals Review after that.

Calculus - Test next Tuesday on chapter  5 - Finals review after that.

Precalculus - Test on polynomial functions this week - test next week on exponents/logarithms/inverses. Finals Review after that.

Everybody has plenty to do. Time to get some things accomplished and enjoy the Reason for the Season.

11/18/11

I was out of school yesterday attending a funeral. My apologies for not posting.

Friday. AISA playoffs at Troy University. Last day before a major holiday. Chaos will be the rule rather than the exception. Should be interesting :)

When we get back on November 28th the real fun will begin. Two weeks and then Final Exams. Make up work will continue to be at a premium.

11/16/11

The last of the tests for this week are done. Now to get caught up on the make up work. First one thing then another. Always busy here at PLAS :)

Thanksgiving Break in two days - then a mad two week sprint to Final Exams. Keep praying and stay the course.

11/15/11

Happy Tuesday everyone. Very foggy outside. Be careful coming in to school.

Hopefully we see the last of the factoring tests in Algebra II today. Geometry has a test on chapter 5 before moving on to chapter 6. Precalculus enjoys the wonders of polynomial graphing and Calculus reviews basic algebra applications. Enough fun to go all the way around.

11/14/11

Hope everyone had a good three day week end. Thanksgiving Break is Friday. I think we are all ready.

After the break we will have two weeks of classes before Final Exams for first semester. Make up work as always is a critical aspect of getting grades in and there is a significant amount of it that needs to be done.

Algebra II and Geometry have the joy of tests this week. Precalculus and Calculus get to wait until we get back from break.

11/10/11

Happy Veteran's Day tomorrow. We will not be here so I had to get it in early.

Algebra II and Geometry will be the lucky ones having tests on Tuesday. Precalculus and Calculus have no tests next week.

11/9/11

Missed my post yesterday. Tests tend to do that but no excuses. My fault.

Algebra will continue to enjoy the wonderful world of factoring. Geometry is heading toward a Chapter 5 on Tuesday and Precalculus moves on into polynomial function graphs. Calculus begins applications of polynomial function graphing as well.

Veteran's Day Assembly today. School is out Friday as we thank the men and women who prove daily that FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE.

11/7/11

Monday morning and my computer is acting more like H.A.L. than it should. That is a reference to 2001:A Space Odyssey for those of you who weren't alive when the movie was made.

Veteran's Day is Friday and we will be out of school. Next Friday the 18th will be our last day before Thanksgiving Break. Resume classes on Monday November 28th.

Make up work is to be done before school ONLY due to obligations I have after school. I try to be here no later than 7:00 a.m. any given morning.

11/4/11

Oops. Must not have hit " send " on yesterday's post. My apologies.

Friday at last. Two weeks to Thanksgiving and four weeks to finals. It will be a mad sprint from here on in.
Tests Tuesday in Precalculus, Calculus and Algebra II. Fun fun fun :)

11/2/11

Welcome to Wednesday. Ought to be interesting but then again all days at PLAS are.

Algebra II will continue to enjoy the wonderful world of factoring. Geometry cannot wait until their next opportunity to write proofs while Precalculus favors synthetic division and zeroes of functions and Calculus goes Back to The Future with quadratic equations, factoring and imaginary numbers. Some days it truly feels like I should be giving credits for both mathematics and a foreign language at the same time.

11/1/11

Wow that was a wierd date to input. We won't be here on Veteran's Day for the ultimate date for binary fans - 11/11/11 :)

Tests today in Algebra II and Geometry. Next week we will get Precalculus and Calculus.

A proud father has to get one in occasionally. Congratulations to Jaylan Reynolds for making the AISA West All-Star Team. The game is this Saturday in Birmingham at Kingwood. Might have to yell Roll Tide down the interstate seeing as a football game is the same day.
